Brighten your mood!

All day, everyday, we face negative feelings coming from work, family, friends, chores and what not. We go around hoping from one problem to the other, getting through one deadline to the next. As strong as we may be, no one is totally immune to work, stress and anxiety. Either its too much work, or too little work, or things not working out, whatever the case there is always something out there to turn our mood sour. There is no way around the daily grind, we cannot run away from it and in fact, we all may even need it. However there surely are ways one can manage their mood.

Friend/Family First Aid Reminder:

All mental health and many alternative medicine techniques, including meditation, are usually about convincing yourself of a new belief. Some use a therapist, some use meditation apps, some use affirmations, however a great technique would be for friends/family to send reminders to each other.

These are not generic social media feel good messages that we  send to all our contact lists. No. These are actual personal messages or even calls, we make to our close friends or families to remind them how much we believe in them, that they are strong enough to get through the day and it can even be a reminder that if there is anything to talk about, you are always there for them.

I believe random messages of positive energy and concern, throughout the day can boost ones mood and confident significantly and can even help start a small conversation that would act like a 2 minute catharsis. A good way can be to have such an arrangement with a friend, family, significant other, where you provide 'first aid' to each other throughout the day.

Being Loved:

Knowing that we are loved by someone is one of the most beautiful, motivating and thrilling feelings in the world. Genuine true love, from a friend, lover, parent, child, is after all what we all really aspire for. Reminding someone about how much you care may not always be appropriate. The other person may be in a meeting, travelling, or just be busy, but it may also be exactly what was required.

We need to convince ourselves of the reality here ie we need each other, we need to be cared for. We must also convince ourselves of the reality that even small things can make a big difference in the lives of people we care about and love. We must convince ourselves that all of this is more important after all, than every thing else in the world.

Imagine receiving a text from a friend exactly when you needed to hear good words eg after a bad
work day or any kind failure.  Being reminded of it every now and then, may even get old and monotonous sometimes, but then again, just because we breathe all the time does not mean its not important. Just like we die without breath, we die a little once the love stops coming in. Be reminded and remind others, of how much you care and you may just be giving the biggest gift to them.
